First Christmas
Going To Be Fun
Would you believe that this Christmas is my first? Of course not, right? 🙂
But actually for my wife, for my 3-year old son and for myself, this is going to be our first Christmas together – as one happy family.
For the past 2 years, every Christmas, we as parents ended up teary-eyed, trying to comfort each other, trying to be happy despite the distance we have from our little precious one whom we missed every second of the day then. 🙂 During Noche Buena, we are thankful that we managed to slice and savor the good taste of that juicylicious and yummylicious Philippine-made ham which we can buy from a Filipino section in selected grocery stores in Dubai.  That’s probably because we know that our son is well taken care of by his grannies back home – that was our only comfort of which we are so grateful.
Being the head of the family, I now feel the importance of being together with your dearests. I can now feel that kind of immense feeling of a father that no superlatives can describe. Â The joy in celebrating this meaningful occasion for us Christians with your family.
Just a few days ago, we started doing this traditional Christmas activity in the family. My wife and I have secretly bought some toys and booklets, which we put inside the mistletoe hanging by the bed of our son, as a surprise treat for him when he wakes up. What a joy indeed to see our son with his beaming face, excited everyday to check the mistletoe. Â It is real happiness, not just for our son but for us three.
Days from now also, the 3 of us will be attending Christmas parties which my wife and I passed up on doing years back.
So many bad and good things happened and year 2012 will come to an end. Â Some even say that it’s going to be the end of the world. Â But with all these, in Arabic word I will say keliweli or kaliwali (meaning, don’t bother), because what’s on my mind today is to celebrate with my family our first ever celebration of Christmas day.
Merry Christmas everyone!
