Aldrich Lloyd Talonding’s Cover of “Dance With My Father”
This Pinoy Kid Should Fly To States Too
Yet another manifestation of how grateful we should be to technologies of this age. With just a few clicks on your mobile or video cameras, you can easily show to the world your talent. And so, calling out Ellen and Oprah once again.
It happened to Justin Bieber years back; YouTube made him famous! Arnel Pineda, the Filipino singer who is now the lead singer of the legendary band Journey, was discovered on YouTube. Charice Pempengco, another Filipino talent, also was discovered on YouTube.
Now, with this low-definition uploaded video of another Filipino young talent, I hope YouTube will take this kid to some place right for him. My wife saw the video first from her friend’s FB wall with thousands of shares already – an indication of how remarkable this boy is. But the FB-posted video doesn’t have the details or information that I want, so I tried to look up the video on YouTube and found so many re-uploads. Fortunately, after almost 30 minutes of searching possible titles of the video, I found the one entitled “Definitely.Viral – Dance With My Father (Acoustic Cover)” uploaded by the YT account name junjunvalerio. As I write this post, there are 296,278 views already 5 days after it was posted last 23rd of April, 2013 (plus views of those re-upload ones).
We know that this Luther Vandross original is already a touching song but the rendition of this young kid Aldrich Lloyd Talindong and cousin guitarist James Walter Bucong, made it even more touching. Both are from General Santos City, Philippines. They unassumingly covered the song with rawness and pure talent. Hearing Aldrich Lloyd hitting all the notes flawlessly, simply tells us how far he could get if someday, soon, someone will take notice of his God-given talent.
If you think this kid is worth a record deal, kindly share the video below until it reaches someone the likes of Ellen DeGeneres or Oprah Winfrey.
To Aldrich Lloyd, all the best and keep it going. To all Filipinos, we should be proud of him.
Cheers!
