The Amazing Tastes Of Thailand Fest 2013 Is Here Once Again
Truly Amazing Thailand
The moment I stepped in on Al Wasl Ballroom’s lobby in Dusit Thani Dubai, I immediately noticed the amazement. Thai dignitaries along with the invited guests, media, and bloggers alike enjoyed listening to the welcoming Thai music being played using their indigenous instruments, watching the skillful exhibition of fruit carving and the agricultural product displays. Minutes before 7 as scheduled, the activity started with a cultural dance presentation, likely done as a call to start off a celebration.
I have never been to Thailand my entire life, but that suddenly made me feel like I was in Thailand. The light dance toted that distinct movement and choreography that one can say, it is authentic Thai. The dance also served as a teaser to their world renowned Loy Krathong Festival or Festival of Lights, which is celebrated every November in Thailand.
Inside the venue now, H.E. Mr. Warawudh Chuwiruch, Ambassador of Royal Thai Embassy in Abu Dhabi briefly welcomed and conveyed to the audience that this 3rd Food Festival will once again surely bring everyone to Thailand even just through their palate. The welcome address then followed by Mr. Chalermsak Suranat’s introduction and the things behind the food festival which commence on the 4th and culminates on the 9th of October, to promote the brand “Amazing Thailand, Always Amazes You” that carries “Authenticity, Value for Money and Hospitality”.
Another set of dance was presented depicting their rich culture and heritage that wowed the audience and made it more convincing to me how amazing Thailand really is.
And that amazement turned into an astonishment when the tasting of food exhibited by 13 participating Thai restaurants in Dubai and Abu Dhabi started.
As a food lover, only 3 Thai food dishes that I can always remember, that is Tom Yum, Pad Thai and Chicken Satay. But last night’s launching of this year’s “The Amazing Tastes of Thailand Fest” was a total enlightenment for me, that there are a lot of other great Thai dishes out there that I have yet to relish. Below are just some of them.
Starting this Friday, everyone can try and have these food from the below participating restaurants, that in line with the festival, will showcase their dishes more than what they have showcased during the launching held last Monday night at Dusit Thani Dubai.
You can also visit the Tourism Authority of Thailand’s Facebook page to know the mechanics of how to win one of the 10 Dhs 200/- worth of Thai dining vouchers.
Back to the launching, there was a cooking show as well while the food, drinks and bubbly drinks were flowing. Aside from those delicious and mouth-watering Thai dishes, 13 among the guests will continue to savor their favorite food after winning Dhs 420/- worth of dining vouchers from the different participating Thai Restos.
Lastly, everybody stood still when the winner of the round trip ticket for two to Thailand was announced. I am one of those who wished so hard to win the ticket but unfortunately, wish not granted. But more so, the Thai experience I had last Monday was truly amazing and it totally convinced me to visit Thailand soon, with my family.
