The Beach Mall

The ongoing construction of the multi-million dollar tram project that will hopefully help ease the to-and-fro route in Palm Jumeirah, makes the narrow roads in Dubai Marina area, even more narrow, especially on weekends.

Notwithstanding the traffic congestion, together with my brood, we braved it until we reached this newly opened The Beach mall in Jumeirah Beach Residence.

The weather was fine when we’re there that made The Beach a great place to unwind and to relax. But soon, the middle eastern summer will be here, and that would be a different story to tell.

The 1 kilometer Beach mall now has a number of restaurants opened which are perfectly lined-up right in front of the shore in JBR. More will come on its full launching and opening. Our two kids right away, liked the place and enjoyed walking around, with other kids busy playing with their scooters on and outside the rubberized path/lane designed for them and for joggers.

Those who want to take a dip in the sea, shower and changing rooms are also strategically in-placed in front of the mall. Going there is like hitting two birds in one stone. Mall and beach. That cool!

The Counter

Hunger struck after surveying the whole area and tried, for the first time, this Californian based fast casual restaurant chain that offers custom topped gourmet burgers.

The Counter has 312,120 possible topping combinations for their burgers but we opted to skip customizing our orders to fill our empty bellies right away. We will just have it in our next visit soon. A very good concept anyway for a gourmet burger restaurant.

Instead, I had The Counter Burger, my wife had the Old School Burger and my son had the Turkey and Cheese sandwich, Parmesan Fries for the side, Banana Split Shake and California Dreams smoothie.

The melted cheese of this Old School Burger makes you drool even more

21st century dining mandatory ritual, selfie. hehehehe

For a total of Dhs 188/-, all our tummies were satisfied. We will try our own burger topping combinations at The Counter, soon.
