A Quick But Worthwhile Staycation At Millennium Hotel Fujairah
Escape From The Hustle And Bustle In Dubai
My wife and I decided to just keep our son’s 6th birthday simple and practical. So last weekend, off we went to the northern part of UAE. Despite some sand storm on the way, we managed to trek the Maleha Road and Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Road and reach the destination safe and sound. We were even greeted with dark clouds and drizzling rain unexpectedly. We left Dubai with 38°C but arriving at 32°C in Fujairah, which was a great sign that winter is coming back soon in the UAE.
Millennium Hotel Fujairah stands tall just right after a few hundred meters of Fujairah City Centre. This newly opened 19-floor hotel, which is also just right across the Fujairah International Airport, is a new addition to the growing landmarks of the emirate.
Straight to their sizable basement parking, which is connected to the soon to open Fujairah Mall and then to the enormous lobby for check in. It was already 4 pm on the dot.
The hotel still looks and smells very new few months after its opening. You can clearly notice its newness from their wide lobby, hallways and to the 37sqm Superior Room that we had, which is just one of the other 220 spacious Superior and Junior Suite Rooms.
With oversized windows, you will never get short of views. The busy Fujairah centre on the left, International Airpot in front, and the rocky mountains of Hajar on the right.
Refreshed and energized after that long drive by a warm shower, we checked the ample-sized pool at the rooftop, then headed to the stone’s throw away Fujairah City Centre. Bought some things needed for the simple 6th birthday celebration of our son, Ilori and back to the hotel for dinner.
Al Rihla Restaurant just adjacent to the lobby offers dinner buffet, breakfast, lunch and an la carte menu.
The food was great. From starters like the hot and the needed steamy soup which kinda totally removed all the stress accumulated from the busy Dubai life, to the main dishes and desserts. And so is the food the next morning.
Now back after dinner, rested awhile and then made a plunge into the pool at the roof top. Night swimming when all other guests were busy clasping their comfy hotel pillows in bed, in their respective rooms, just made the night exclusive, i.e. we had the pool amenity all to ourselves, which is cool. The summer breeze on that night also cooperated and kept our body temperatures warm, which actually made us wanting for more hours in the water.
But, we need to go back to the hotel room before midnight for our son’s 6th birthday celebration.
We had fun. We sang the happy birthday song with utmost joy and happiness. And that one kiss (above pic) on the cheek made it as one priceless celebration.
Had some slices of cake, juices, balloon popping, and an overdose of cuddles, then the much needed good night sleep.
Woke up late. A number of planes had taxied on the tarmac in the opposite international airport. Had our sumptuous breakfast, then checked out after a while. And hit the road again back to Dubai, but with a few stopovers in mind, on the way.
Our quick staycation at this 5-star Millennium Hotel Fujairah, was sure a worthwhile one. The quiet, bit laid-back environment feel, wonderful and courteous staff, great-tasting food, state-of-the-art amenities and facilities, are just few of the many great things the hotel has to offer.
Now, will I visit and stay there again? I know, you know it’s a yes!
