Taco Tuesdays at Poco Loco Dubai

It was still Tuesday but I was stuck in traffic for several minutes, in one of the roads leading to JBR. How much more on weekends. Although great alternative commute is in place; the Dubai Tram, which is a big help to saving time. Leave your car in any of the tram stations like in Knowledge Village or Media City then just minutes of commute straight to JBR.

But if got enough time, braving the traffic would also be gratifying. The Beach mall has ample basement parking spaces. Just like what I did. Reached Poco Loco in the mall just in time. Media and blogger friends were all ready. Then started the appetizer. Elongated slices of Nachos Royal with the tasty PocoLoco Guacamole and other condiments. And moments later, torrents of tacos, tacos and tacos poured in.

There are two different kinds of tacos depending on where in the side of the world you are currently located. Crispy and soft ones. At PocoLoco Dubai, all tacos are served with homemade soft corn tortillas. That night, it proved to me that eating tacos with soft tortillas are the best ones. Aside from avoiding unnecessary mess, you can fully appreciate the goodness of each of the different fillings they serve.

We had the Soft Shell Crab with Avocado, Beef Skirt Steak with Salsa Roja, Grilled Chicken and Rock Shrimp Tempura. There’s one filling which was a bit bland for me. That is typical for a Latin American cuisine. Perhaps I blame it to my so Filipino palate. But to be honest, overall, it was great. Combining the softness of the outer tortillas, some crackling sound in between fillings and the taste; were all ‘moy bien‘.

But I love the Rock Shrimp Tempura the most. The Chicha Murada mocktail perfectly blends with the tacos. And the finale?! The freshly cooked, hot and tender Churros dessert with cinnamon sugar and sauce cajeta is another ‘moy bien’ right there.
