Random Food Blog: Rice Asian Canteen, Newest In Town
Opening In This Trying Times
That alone is already a big statement. Opening a new restaurant, which is the Rice Asian Canteen in this trying times, simply means, they are self-assured to get a following right away; which is agreeable.
Few more days and we’ll be one year since the wifey and I, started working from home due to the pandemic. To be honest, we are also among those who are working from home who prefer ordering food outside rather than cooking.
Most of the time, we don’t want to leave our respective work devices to cook our lunch in the kitchen. Hence, food ordering online has been always the top option.
We’ve tried countless restos already, which we didn’t get to try when covid wasn’t there yet. But this particular restaurant where my wife ordered from, on Zomato UAE, didn’t only impress us with their mouth-watering food, but it took us by surprise when we found out that they just recently opened.
While everyone’s closing down their food businesses, due to losses and uncertainties, here is Rice Asian Canteen, venturing and challenging the food industry. And I could confirm that they’ve done the right thing!

Here’s the feedback on their food that we’ve ordered:
Veggie Coconut Curry + Starter + Drink Combo
You would know how fresh the food you are eating when the potato along with the other veggies in it, still have that kind of firm texture in every bite. The hot curry wasn’t too strong, it just rightly explodes in your mouth with some spiciness that blends with starter that my wife had selected, the Edamame. It was dayum good! The soda was carefully wrapped with napkin in between the steamed rice in a paper bag, so it was still cold when it was delivered. This combo was only Dhs 45/-.
Pad Thai Noodles
The Pad Thai Noodles tasted great as well and authentic as evident in its ingredients. The pad thai sauce, crushed peanuts, shrimp, chicken, spring onion, bean sprouts, egg, cilantro and lime for the garnish. This, for Dhs 43/-.
Grilled Asian Spiced Salmon
This Grilled Asian Spiced Salmon right away becomes my daughter’s favorite from them, as she likes salmon so much. Plus it was perfectly charred, which preserved that distinct taste from Asian Spice they rubbed on it. The asparagus, broccoli and red bell pepper were all crunchy and delicious. The size of the salmon is just right for Dhs 62/-. It comes with rice.
Sesame Chicken
And finally, the last but not the least; the Sesame Chicken. It was full of soy goodness. The breaded sliced chicken breast was fried perfectly. Considering the delivery time, (which was on time) it still came in crispy. This, for Dhs 58/- and it also comes with rice.
Wait, we are not done yet.
Packaging
Their packaging is strikingly green and cool. Well, they’re 95% made from reusable materials. 5% goes to the plastic covers of the big paper bowls and cutleries. But overall, the packaging is environmentally sustainable which is a big plus.
The wifey gave them this review on zomato.
Everything was excellent! Food, packaging, presentation, service, and value for money. You will know that every detail is well thought out. One of the best Asian restos I have tried in Dubai. So happy you are here.
Verdict
I couldn’t agree more with my wife, hence an easy 9.6 out 10 for Rice Asian Canteen.
This is not a sponsored post but we recommend you to try them now. They currently have three branches in Dubai. One in Al Barsha, one in Al Khawaneej and another one in Business Bay, as what we can see on zomato.com And they are for delivery only, I think for now. Here is their phone number: +97142706912.
